Our new signing took his first steps in football in The Gambia. He began playing in Wellingara before continuing his development at Brikama Gidda and Bombada. He later moved to Nigeria, where he joined the Almasi Football Academy in Abuja.

Although the academy’s name may sound surprisingly Hungarian at first, the word “almasi” actually means “diamond” in Swahili. The Nigerian academy works with players between the ages of 13 and 19 and scouts young talent not only locally, but also in The Gambia, Senegal, Ghana and other African countries. Its aim is to prepare promising footballers for the professional game through high-level training and match analysis.

Modoulamin first arrived at our club for a trial last winter and impressed the club’s management with his performances. He has been training with the first team since March, giving him the opportunity to get to know his teammates, the expectations of the coaching staff and the everyday life of the club.

The young midfielder was also given the chance to prove himself during the summer training camp, where he found the net in the friendly match against Grazer AK. He can now continue his development as an ETO player and work towards establishing himself in green and white for the long term.

Our new signing introduced himself to the ETO supporters with the following message:

“Hi, ETO fans! My name is Modoulamin Mass, and I’m from The Gambia. I started playing football in Wellingara before moving to Brikama Gidda, then Bombada, and later Almasi Academy in Nigeria. I’m proud to be part of ETO and excited for this new chapter. Hajrá, ETO!”
