Viktor Djukanovic: the new attacker of ETO
ETO have strengthened their attacking ranks with the highly talented and prolific Viktor Djukanović. The 22-year-old Montenegrin forward joins on a one-year loan from Swedish side Hammarby IF, with an option to buy.
Viktor Djukanović was born in Nikšić, Montenegro’s second-largest city and the hometown of former Roma and Juventus striker Mirko Vučinić. He took his first steps in football at his local youth club, Sutjeska Nikšić. In 2019, at the age of 15, the young talent made the move to Budućnost Podgorica, Montenegro’s most successful club of the post-millennium era.
The forward enjoyed an extremely successful spell in Podgorica between 2019 and 2023, bursting onto the Montenegrin football scene. In 2021, he won both the league title and the domestic cup, while also finishing as the cup competition’s top scorer. He lifted the cup again in 2022 before celebrating another league title at the end of the 2022/23 season.
In January 2023, he moved abroad to join Swedish side Hammarby IF. He made an excellent start at his new club, scoring 11 goals in 25 league appearances and spending nearly 1,500 minutes on the pitch. His performances and playing time were more limited in the 2024 season, when he registered three goals and one assist in 18 domestic and international appearances.
A promising opportunity arose in the summer of 2024, when Standard Liège, a club widely renowned for developing young players, signed him on loan. However, he was unable to establish himself as a key member of the Belgian side and subsequently returned to Sweden.
In January 2025, he joined DAC on loan, where he began to rediscover his best form. The player, who operates primarily as a striker but can also be deployed on the left wing, scored three goals in 14 appearances. His 2025/26 season was even more impressive statistically, as he racked up ten goals and two assists in 22 competitive matches.
In Viktor Djukanović, ETO have therefore acquired a genuine attacking player. His pace and mobility in the final third are expected to make him a valuable option both in front of goal and during attacking build-up play.
Welcome, Djuka! Hajrá ETO!
