Thirty years ago 23rd June 1979 in National Stadium we had the success what we are not able to repeat now. Ottó Szabó ,who is the trainer of the club now, shot from a low pass to the opponents goal into the left corner in 17th minute and by this goal ETO won the Hungarian cup against Ferencváros in the final, so after 12 years the Hungarian Cup arrived to Győr.
Team of Győr showed a great performance. They played tactically, concentrated and the squad had great members like Palla goalkeeper, famous midfield defender Pozsgai. The match was not so exciting but the winning was well deserved for Győr-wrote the old newspaper Képes Sport.
